About Anna Curran, RN

I’m a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Public Health Nurse (PHN). I have been teaching health topics in plain language since 2012, through my nursing education website NurseStudy.net, my YouTube channel and my books for nursing students.

Over the years I have seen the same thing again and again: people do better when they understand what is happening in their own body and have a clear plan for the next step. Living Well Nurse brings that same teaching approach to people living with long-term health conditions and the families who love them.

How I write

  • Plain language. I explain medical words the first time I use them.
  • Current and checked. Articles are based on sources such as the FDA, the National Institutes of Health, the American College of Rheumatology and peer-reviewed research. Each article lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
  • Honest. If the research is mixed, I say so. I do not sell supplements or promise cures.
  • Not a replacement for your care team. This site shares general information. Please talk with your own doctor or licensed provider about your care.

Books

My series, A Nurse’s Guide, turns this same approach into books. The first is Fibromyalgia: A Nurse’s Guide to Less Pain, Better Sleep and More Good Days. See the books.
